A FINE OF £100 IMPOSED
AN 1 EX-REGISTRAR OF ELECTORS. ' . By Telegraph.—Press Association. . .. •Hamilton, ..'July 5. At the. Police Court, George Bond, ex-Registrar of Electors at Hamilton, was charged with having neglected to pay £22 17s. into tho public account ;to which the -money-was "payable. It appeared that the defendant had allowed small sums of money collected for tlio sale of the rolls, etc., to be mixed up with his business, wliicli was a partnership. The sum of £22 17s. has since been paid by defendant, and there was no suggestion of dishonesty or deliberata breach of the regulation. Mr. Cutten, S.M., said he was glad to be assured that tliore was no element of dishonesty,' but the Act was absolutely rigid, aiid ho had no option but to fine defendant £100. . t
