General Gourand, in ail Army Order of June 4,'states:—''You must remember in advancing against tile enemy 011 Turkish soil tliat it is yet our hateful enemy Germany you are fighting. She stirred up against, us the Turks, who formerly were our friends. Therefore show morcy to the Turks who surrender." HOW THE GENERAL WAS . WOUNDED.. . Paris, July '4. It' is officially stated that General Gourand was struck by.fragments of a shell near ail ambulance station, where lie liad gone on a visit to the wounded. His life is not in danger, but lie has been invalided home. General Bailloud | has provisionally assumed command.
