SATURDAY'S MATCHES SELWYN DEFEATS TRENTHAM B. , Saturday's Rugby matches resulted as follows:— Trentham A, 18; Wellington, 3. Selwyn, 11; Trentham B, 3. Poneke, 9; Treiitham C, 8. A-thletic, 14; University, 3. SELWYN AND TRENTHAM B. The chief match of the day was that, between Selwyn and Trentham B, played at Athletic Park .in tha presence'of a fair-sized crowd. The match resulted in a decisive win for Selwyn by 11 points to 3. For Selwyn, l Eoberts scored two tries, one of which M'Phee converted, and W. Roberts • kicked a penalty goal. Trentham B's three points came from a penalty-goal .by Anderson. ATHLETIC AND UNIVERSITY. . The senior Rugby contest at the Polo ground, Miramar, between Athlctic. and .University resulted in a comfortable win for the former team by 11 points to 3. Athletic's scoro was composed of four tries, the scorers being Levick, Evensen, M'Carlie,'and Les. Wilson. Mr. J, H. Grover was referee, ' PONEKE AND TRENTHAM C. A somewhat scratchy game ivas won by the home team by 5 to nil. Taranaki lacked off, and after loose play, got on the rush and almost scored in the twenty-five. S. Skipper took a mark.
