CANARY SHOW
Record entries wero received for th'o annual championship "show of the Dominion Canary Specialists' Club, which opened at 151 Cuba Street yesterday. It is claimed that the show is a record in every respect, particularly in quality. Exhibits have been received from Aucklaud, Gisborne, Palmorston North, Wellington, Nelson, Oamaru, Christchurch, and Dunedin, and the whole of the birds are valued at well over .£IOOO. Tho whole show plant, consisting of 400 cages and staging, has been entirely constructed by members and presented to tho club. Principal prizo winners in tho various classes are indicated on the printed catalogues. Mr. F. King.secured tho North Island championship with his exhibit in clas9 C (Norwich plain head, dear or ticked buff), and also won a cluib cup and special prize with tho same exhibit. He secufed another first award and two special prizes hi the canary classes, and a first in mulos. . Mr. J. N. Rider was awarded' fourteeon firsts, and Mrs. Rider eight firsts. Mi'. Ct. Rogers obtained four firsts for canaries, two firsts for mules, and two firsts for finches and parrots ' Other prize winners were Mr. C. F. Purton, three firsts and a club cup;.-Mr, J. Simmons, seven firsts and a special prize; Mr. W. Bull, six firsts; Mr. T. Hanson, six firsts and two special prizes; Mr. H. Bull, four firsts and a special prize; Miss A. Niall, three firsts; Mr. W. Fitchett, two firsts; Mr. W. M'CaTlie, two-firsts; Mr. C. Otto, two firsts;' Mr. A. Malcolmson, ono first and one special prize; Mr. R. C. Wells, one first; Miss M'Carlie, one,- Mr. J. Duncan, one; Mr. W. H. Landells, one; Mr.' J. Galvin, ono; Miss Gladys Bull, one; Master Stidolph, one frrst and ono special prizo 4
