Mossrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., FeUdins - report:—We .held clearing sales this week on account of 11. Ross, Awahuri, i dairy stock, etc.. ,and on account of F. E. Blundell, Waituna, sheep, cattle, etc. Mr. Itoss's cows,. considering the quality, sold well and springing were 'in keen demand. At Mr. Blundell's sale, notwithstanding the rough weather! there 1 was a large attendance, and bidding was brisk throughout. The sheep were' a. particularly good lot, and we have to report one of the best sales ever held in. the district. We quote:—Sheep: 313 two end fourtooth ewes, 2-95." 7d.; 167 eix-tooth ewes, 28s. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows: —A full yarding of both sheep and cattle came forward and sold readily at late rates. At the Addington, live stock market entries of stock were generally smaller than. last week, and there was a fair attendance. Store sheep sold well, especially hoggets; fat lambs and fat. sheep, were firmer, and fat cattle were decidedly easier. Store sheep': Fair-conditioned four and six-tpoth ewes,. 14s. 9d. to 17s. 7d.; low-con-ditioned four and isix-tooth owes, 12s. 6d. to 14s. 4d.; aged ewes, in lamb, 7s. 6d. to Bs. 3d.; forward four and six-tooth weth<.rs, 20s. to 21s. 3d.; forward two-tooth wethers, 175." At Burnside to-day 194 fat cattle were yarded, amongst which were a number of pood bullocks and heifers, the balance bemade up of ordinary steers, cows, and heifers.. Competition was fairly animated, especially for good quality steers, and prices all round were on a par with last week's rates. Prime bullocks, to £15 ss. j good, £11 to £13; lighter, £9 to £10 10s.; prime heifers and cows, £11 to £13; evtra prime, to £15; good, £9 10s. to £10 Os.; lighter, £7 to £8 0. 6d. : Fat sheep: 2797 were penned. By far the greater proportion were owes, there being 1 on Jy * small entry of prime wethers. Competition was keen throughout, and pnices for prime heavy wethers showed a rise of about Ib. per head, while medium wetlu ers and all ewes were firm at last week's £ c ates ; pTl ,^ e wethers, 225. 9d.; prime, '255. to 285.; medium, 21s. to 235. .6d.; light and inferior, 15s. 6d. to 18s. 6d.; extra prime ewes, 325. 3d.; prime, 21s. to 245.; modium, 17s. to 18s/ 6d. ; inferior and light, 10s. to 15s. 6n. Fat lambs: There was a much' smaller entry than usual, only 1023 being penned Competition was much keener, and prices were Is. to Is. 6d. better than last week's rales.
