For some time past large shipments or Nelson-grown apples have been arriving on the local market, but for the better part the sample has been rather 'inferior, with the result that prices for good lines have suffered in consequence. The monthly shipment of Rarotongan fruit eamo to hand last Monday, the bananas in very good order, indeed, but oranges in poor condition. The shipments of Sydney fruit are increasing, but the lines that arrived this week were' in rather inferior order, . quite a large percentage of the fruit being bad. iVegetabies are in very fair demand, cauliflower of good colour -being specially sought after. Potatoes continue high, while onions are unchanged.
