ORGANISING WOMEN
REMARKABLE SUCCESS IN GERMANY (Rec. June 25, 11.20 p.m.) London, June 25. A visitor to Berlin, writing to the "Times," emphasises the remarkable success of Germany's organising of women. They are everywhere thrust into positions of great responsibility. A party of women of gentle birth were seen digging in a drainage ditch in Berlin. Forty per centum of the workers who aro manufacturing high explosive shells and packing cartridges, are women; also 15 per centum of the hands making harness, 50 per cent, of the tent-mak-ers, 33 per cent, of the chemical makers, 75 per cent, of those packing tinned meats for the Army, and in the textile mills, and 70 per cent, of the tobacco workers.
