THE MUNITIONS BILL
AN URGENT MEASURE (Rec. June 25, 5.45 p.m.) London, Juno 24. In the House of Commons Mr. Guest urged that our duties to our Allies required us to organise to tho very limits of our power, and he thought that the Munitions Bdl did not go far enough. We should immediately establish national service. Mr. Asquith, Prune Minister, suggested that it was an inappropriate timo to discuss 6r even to ventilate the important topic raised, and assured the House that it was impossible to exaggerate the importance of passing the Bill at tile earliest moment.—("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Sendees.) RECRUITING MUNITION WORKERS London, June 24. Forty Lonclon Town Halls, where munition workers' bureaux have been established, were besieged by inquirers. Recruiting begins to-night. CONFERENCE WITH MINERS. (Rece. June 25,11.15 p.m.) London, June 25. Mr. Lloyd George had a conference with tho executive of the Miners' Federation, and pointed out the urgent necessity of stopping all strikes and lockouts. Tho executive promised to consider the appeal and to confer again with Mr. Lloyd George to-morrow. NATIONAL RESOURCES TO BE REGISTERED. (Rec. June 25, 11.15 p.m.) London, June 25. Iu the House of Commons, Mr. Long, President of the Local Government Board, announced that next week ho will introduce a Bill to provide for tie resistor of tho national resources.
