Zavit Sonos, Speaker of the Greek House, writing 'to his nephew in the Australian Expeditionary Force, says: "Owing to tho illness of the King, we are uuablo at once to participate in the noble war against the oppressors. Remember that as long as there is Greece, so long as she has a people following our ideas, we and Freedom will eventually say we are ready to die for Byron's country. So long as lam in power I shall see where my duty lies. It is certain that there will be war." He pays tributes to the Australasians at the Dardanelles, and adds: "When the time comes, a million bayonets of ours shall speak the same as tho Allies."
