Parker applied for an advance of i£6o for felling 40 acres, and it was resolved recommend his application for the Minister's consent in terms of the regulations of August 24, 1914. B. T. Ralph applied for an advance of ■£60 for felling 20 acres, and it was resolved to recommend his application for the Alinster's consent in terms of the regulations of August 24, 1914. D. G. Sanson applied for an advance of <£50 for additions to his house, and it was resolved to recommend for the Minister's consent in terms of the regulations of August 24, 1914. The insurance on the house to be first increased. G. W. Haydon applied for an advance of ,£45 for erecting 36 chains of fencing, and it was resolved to recommend the application for tho Minister's consent in terms of the regulations of August 24, It was resolved to authorise the receiver to pay into the public account the amount of .£ls received for improvements on Section 9, Block IX, Hunua S.D. The Akitio County Council applied for a lease of about 3 acres of Section 28, Rakau'nui V.S., with the cottage thereon recently occupied by Public Works Department, and it was resolved to cut out a quarter of an acre to cover powder magazine for Public Works Department and offer remainder of section by lease for five years to the Akitio County Council provided the council pays .£45 value of improvements, at a rental of 4 per cent, on the unimproved value of the land. Air. R. H. Seifert applied to rent cot•tage on Section 28, Rakaunui V.S., and it was resolved to allow him to do so for the present from week to week from Alay I, 1915, at a rent of five shillings per week. It was resolved to reoffer Section 1, Block XIII, Tararua S.D., 300 acres, on icnewable lease, under Part 111 of the Land Act, 1908, at the present rent of .£l2 per annum, without any loading for improvements. ■ Mr. John Sheahen applied to purchase tho cottage on Section 8, Block VIII, Manganui, and it was resolved to sell it to him for J!ls. It was resolved to authorise the Commissioner to invite local tenders for sale and removal of house situated on Section 28, Block VI, Hunua S.D. A report was received from the ranger witli regard to Mr. T. Irwin's occupation of a strip of Crown land south of Owhango Railway Station, and applications from others for use of portions nf said strip. It was resolved to adjourn the matter to next meeting. C. Boote applied for a permit to occupy a strip of Crown land between road and railway south of Owhango railway station, and it was resolved to adjourn tho matter to next meeting. It was resolved to recommend that Section 143, Block XIV, Aohanga, 12 acres, be loitered for cash to the adjoining owner, Air. Charles Waglaird, as thirdclass land, under Section 131 of tho Land Act, 1908, at a price of j.'l4'i inclusivo of improvement?;, and to recommend ill tho special circumstances that the balance of purchase money after deduction of original price at 10*. per acre, plus interest fur occupation, from August 31, tS7S, to date of sale, lie handed over to Messrs. kuri S.D., 8 acres, as a site for a coaching stage, and it was resolved to grant him a license to occupy it from year to year, under Section 130 of the Land Act, 1908, at a rent of ,£1 per annum, subject to the usual conditions. E. W. Slipper applied for permit to cut timbar for posts on Seotion 41, Block I. Hunua S.D., Crown land, near Owhango Domain grounds, and it was resolved to decline his application. H. W. Stretton applied for a license to cut firewood on Lower Whakapapa Island, and it was resolved to decline his application. The Commissioner advised the hoard that it had been decided- to offer Section 28, Block XIV, Mount Robinson, 5.D., Hcatherlea Settlement, 1 acre 1.6 perches, for cash by public auction, at an upset price of -under Sections 57 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1912, and 43 of tho Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913. Eli Foster, who recently selected Section 31, Block XII, Belmont, Paparaiigi Settlement, on renewable lease, having complained that he was kept'out of possession for a considerable tiilie by the, previous occupant, it was resolved to fix March 25, 1915, as date of final approval of his application and lease instead of February 25, 1915. It was resolved to offer for cash by public action the unsold lots in Erua Township, at the upset prices originally fised. Mrs. P. Brannigan applied for Sections 223, 224, and 225, Alfredtown Township, and it was resolved to recommend that the reservation over Sections 224 and 225 be lifted and the three sections, if possible, be sold to Mrs. Brannigan at tho prices in teraa of tho Ranger's report. Applications having been received from Messrs. A. Anderson and A. i. Chamberlain for permits to cut timber on Crown land, situated to the east, of Section 2, Block XVI, Kaitieke S.D,, it was resolved to obtain a report from the Ranger on the dead timber in that locality with the view of inviting local tenders for the right to cut it. A memorandum was received from tne Under-Secretary advising that the sections in Wliakaihuwafca Block and elsewhere advertised on sale poste 701 as open for selection on June 23, 1915, were withdrawn from sale or selection until further notice, and that it has been decided to reoffer them with exemption from rent only.—Received. . Messrs. Laird Bros, renewed their application for portion of forfeited Section 6, Block VII, Whiriwiki S.D.. as a homestead site, and it was resolved to refer to tho Ranger for a statement of his reasons why he recommends that the -proTious application be not granted. sions of Section 124 of tho 'Land Act, 1908. Messrs. A. E. and L. N. A. Burling's application to subdivide Lot 1, Nikau Orango, and transfer the tliree portions as follows:— Soction 11 to T. L. and B. Walker; Seotion 10 to W. and W. J. Barnes; and Section 12 to J. Kersliaiv, consideration of which was adjourned at last meeting was considered. It was resolved after hearing' argument of Messrs. G. R. N. Wright and Jacob, who appeared in support of the applications, to consider tlie matters in committee. Mr. John M'Gillicnddj- applied to surrender his lease of Section 7, Block XII, Ilaurangi. It was resolved to approve provided the rent for tlie broken period from July 30 to December 31, 1914 (.£57 7s. 7d.) is paid up. A license to mill timber in part Section 28, Block S, Umutoi, 55 acres, to J. Foot and W. Roberts was granted.
