LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

THE NATIONAL ANTHEM. Sir, —The enclosed cutting from a Molbourno "Argus" is a verso added to tho National Anthem, and sung by tho scholars of a State school, Melbourne, at an Empire Day celebration. Do you agree with roe that it would bring home to children, if sung everywhere, and adults too, how close wo are to tho heart of tho Empire if the deeds and loyalty of their fathers, brothers, and our sons, now fighting at tho front, were actually coupled with the verses to our gracious King, and sung to tlio stirring notoß of tho National Ajithem? —I am, ctc., A SOLDIER'S MOTHER. (Enclosure.) God bless our splendid men, Send them safe home again, God save our men* Keep them victorious, Patient and chivalrous, They are so dear to us, God save our men.
