NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW

PEOPLE'S DAY (Bj Telegraph,—Special Reporter.) Palmerston N., Jujio 24. This was People's Day at the Show, and. notwithstanding the rather unsuitable weather, the attendance was large. Additional awards have been made. First awards weut as follows:— Plymouth Rock. —AVm. Cullen, G. Wendebanks, G. Jackson, C, 11. Pickering, P. Larcomb. Wyandotte.—T. W. Bragge, J. H. Shaw, J. H. Hewitt, P. Larcomb, R. L. Meld, T. B. Holdaway, John Jarvis. Orpington.—T. A. Petrie, B. A. Fraser. D. C. Pinker, Stewart and Landsperg. Minorca.—L. V. Dahl, Stewart and Landsperg, T. Krarup. Leghorn.—R. D. White, L. V. Dahl, Sherwood Poultry Farm, W. Bierre, J. H. Shaw, A. M. Atkins. The points prize in cookery was won by Mrs. Evans, of Palmerston North. Mr. R. J. Nicholas, of' Hawera, won the championship in export honey. The fruit grading competition was won by H. Garton with 67-J points. L. Abbott (53i) was second, and F. B. Moore (41) third. A good crowd watched the ring events, notwithstanding the rain. The results were as follow:— Maiden Hunters' Competition. —Mr. K. M'K. Hammond's Stardancer, 1; Miss K. W. Prvde's Donovan, 2; Mr. S. G. Perry's Sheila, 3. Hunters' Competition.—Mr. J. J. Bryce's Twilight, 1; Mr. J. H. M'Lean's Waitohi, 2; Mr. D. M'Ewen'e Lady Bell, 3. The display of hounds by the Manawatu Hunt Club was much appreciated. In the hunters' competition, Restless fell opposite the stand, and the rider was conveyed to the hospital suffering from internal injuries. Thoroughness invariably results in a structure which will stand sound and strong for all time. Having built our foundation of the business, solid as a rock, nothing can shako them. Suppliers of various produce contimu to come to us, and we give everything our beet and most careful attention. We sell direct to stores and consumers, saving the middleman's 10 per cent, profit, and we can therefore afford to distribute, at any rate, an extra 5 per cent, over and above others to our suppliers.
