ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
MOTHER TRAM ACCIDENT. A visitor to the city, Mrs. Brenton, wife of Mr. Brenton, of the Accommo. dation House at Pongaroa, met with an accident in Vivian Street at about a quarter past seven last night. As tin tramcar she was in was neariug the torminus at Veitch and Allan's comer, Mrs. Brenton stepped out of the, car in the opposite direction to which the car. was travelling. She had a nasty fall, her head striking the wood blocks of the street. She was carried into Dr. Mackin's in an unconscious condition. After being attended to by the doctot she was removed to tlio Hospital, where she was found to be suffering from in. juries to her head and one of her Her condition is hot serious. A CHILD DROWNED. Dragging operations for the body of S boy named Dudley Thomas Croucher, aged six years, who was drowned in tin river last evening, have been so far unsuccessful.
