COALITION GOVERNMENT SUGGESTED
MEETING OF BUSINESS MEN. 08y Msurajili.—Press Association; Auckland, June 21. At a meeting of the Auckland ChamW of Commerce this afternoon to consider the question of shipping space, tho following resolution was passed:—"That tho Govornment be urged to create a new portfolio and appoint a, Minister of Commerce, whether a member of Cabinet or otherwise, who shall be president Of the Overseas Committee which at present allocates space, to see that justice is done to ajl shippers." Various speakers in pointing out that the present Ministry was overworked and faced with grave problems which would confront them both during the war _ and after it, advocated a. ooalition ■Ministry, and declared that they regarded with strong disapproval the prospect of ' political strife while tho country was engaged in war. Anothor speaker said he was certain that the great majority of the commercial peoplo of. tho Dominion wanted to seo party differences sunk during tho war, and the strongest Ministry possible formed to undertake tho tremendously heavy .'duties before the Government.
