MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL
At last night's meotiug of tlie Miramar Borough Council the Mayor (Mr. F. Townsend) presided, and there were also preseut: Councillors H. Hawthorn, 11. Tracy, and W. l'ollock. Mr. I'. Blank, consulting engineer, wrote in regard to tbe overhead wires in the borough, and suggested that the council should approach the Post, and Telegraph Department with a view to coming to some arrangement as to the sides of the street to he used by the borough and tlie Department. It was decided to adopt the engineer's suggestion. . A letter was received from Mr. 11. A. Wright, M.P., advising that lie was in communication with the Minister . of Justice regarding the appointment of a police officer for the district. As there is 110 system of free tram passes in the borough the council decided that it could not accedo to the request of the Society for the Health of Women and Children that the society's trained nurses be granted a pass. Tlie City Tramway authorities advised that it was proposed to run ail extra car from Lambton Station to Seatoun at 9-1 p.m. 011 Fridays. It was decided to aslt that the car should be fixed to leave Lambton Stnstion at 10.1 p.m., instead of at the hour montionod.
