SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
Kx-Sergoaiifc Culverwell, late of Samoa, was the host- at the Sailors' Friend Society last night, when he provided a most delightful concert for tl\o men ill port.. The songs, etc., met with a warm reception from the large audience. The performers wore: Mrs. Downes, the .Misses Harper, Mueller, and Halliburton, and Messrs. Mason, Downes, and Culverwell. Mr. J. Allen was at tlio piano. Prizes donated bv well-wishers went tn the men for keen work in the competitions. The "Sea Kins" Carnival progressed a stage, and the |k)1I stands as follows:—1. blue, Master Oram ; ~ pink. .Master Williams ; 3, white. Master Johaiison: J. rod. ■ Miitax Ycale.
