At the meeting of the Suez Canal Company, the report staled that the ' commercial traffic from August to December, 1014, fell by nearly 40 per ; cent., but the military transport con--1 stituted an important set-off. The company's loss on the first five mouths of the war totalled 6J million francs, reduced to 4£ million francs, by an ante-war surplus. , The receipts decreased during tlie current year by 35 per cent, compared with the corresponding period cf 1914, 'Die dividend was fixed at 120 francs not, and the sum of 18,000,000 francs was carried forward.
