e A DESPERATE FLIGHT. (Roc. June 15, 7.30 p.m.) London, June 14. "Bye-Witness" writes: "On tho day our naval airmen scored their great success two comrades in the Flying Corps had ail adventurous flight while reconnoitring twenty miles from our lines. i "Several German aviators attacked 3 tliem and -one pilot was, shot through s the jaw and neck. It was a dangerous - wound, and he collapsed, and lost con--5 trol of his machine. .Then he recovered s sufficiently to steady the machine and . continue the flight, fired at by a succession of hostile airmen. "Tho pilot gradually grew weaker from loss of blood, and was hardly conscious. The observer helped to bandage his wound while he kept tlie machine going. They completed their re- . connaisance and landed safely. The 3 pilot is progressing towards recovery."
