ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
DEATH OF A DOCTOR. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Whangarei, June 15. Dr. Thomas Henry Gibson Hall, of Whangarei, at one time the sole doctor in the town, died in his car this morninc. He was going to see a patient when he was noticed by two pedestrians to be leaning over the wheel, as if ho had fainted. The car travelled ?long uneuided, and collided with a telegraph post. It was only going slowly. The doctor was found to bo dead. Deceased was known from Whangarei to . tho North Capo. - He was a i;i'eat patriot, and his kindness was proverbial, though his many benefactions were done privately. He was tho first captain of tho Marsden Mounted Rifles, and later of tho Marsdon Defence Force! A great horseman, the doctor had often ridden fifty miles to patients. He ■ twice offered to go to tho front, but was debarred. from doiug so. by his age, he being sixty-three. There are many public signs of mourning in Whangarei.
