■ PETONE CLUB'S ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the Petone Bowling Club states: The balance-sheet shows a credit balance of £19 18s. 3d. to the general account, including the ■ sum of £15 3s. 2d. derived from the I refreshment account. Finally our credit balance is not so strong as in previous > years, but this is due to tho heavy ex- ■ penditure occasioned by the erection of i new gates at the front entrance, and : the purchase of plant. Considerable interest was taken in i the senior pennant contest, Wellington ! and Petone tying for Section A. In the ' play off Wellington won by some 14 points. Nevertheless this is a splendid . performance, and the club is to be con- ; gratulated on being the runners up for . 6eason 1914-15. The Presidents' Cup > (presented by Dr. Ross and the late Mr. Orton Stevens), played for by Hutt and Petone, was competed for three [ times during the year. Tho number of rinks was reduced from six to four. Potone won two out of tho three games j played. This is the eighth year running Petone has retained this cup. The "Wilford Cup," combined with /the ' champion singles, was won by Mr. Ron- „ liie, who will hold tho cup for the com--3 ing year. Mr. Colos was the runner up, j In tho Wellington Centre New Yeai Tourney the following teams represent--3 ed the olub:—M'Arthur P., Froser, 5 Fowler, Beynon fs.); M'Ewen, Coles : " Melhuish, Stephens (s.); Allau, Henry II Rennie, Wearne (s.).- Beynon's testr " were successful in winning their sec--1 fcicn, and getting into the final against " Porteous (Wellington), and were only beaten by a very narrow majority ■ Messrs. M'Ewen, Coles, Beynon, • Stephens (s.), were tho representatives ■ for the champion rink, and were suu- • oessful in _ getting into the 6emi-final : against Hill (Te Hiwi). Mr. Renmo i for the champion of champion singles was defeated in tho first round, and Cates and Wearne (s.) were defeated in the second round of the champion of champion pairs. The annual social and dance of the olub was held in St. Augustine's Schoolroom, and was well patronised by members md their wives. The ' credit balance was £3 7s. 6(1. f :
