EMPIRE DAY IN LONDON
SIR GEORGE REID ON THE MARTYRS OF WAll. London, June 11. Fifteen hundred children celebrated Empire Day at Guildhall. Sir George Reia (High Commissioner for Australia) eaid that a British soldier who died in battle was a martyr, because he was a volunteer; that martyr-blood would cement tho people of the United Kingdom to the Dominions as no prosperity could do.
