The Ivcw Zealand Loan And Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report'on their Pnhiatua stock sale ae follows— :Wc held our weekly sale on Tuesday, when we offered a, small yarding of sheep and a fair one of cattle. The tone of the market was much healthier, and we made almost a total clearance at the following rates:—Medium two-tooth wethers, 17s. 6d.; small two-tooth ewes, 15s. 6d.; fat cowe, £7 12e. 6d.; store cows, £1 15s. to £3 10s.; backward dairy cows. £2 12s. to £3; mixed woaners, 13e. to £1 Is. Tho New Zealajid Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report haring held a successful sale of 3heep, dairy cows, etc., on account of Mr. J. R. Hay, at Ballanoe, Competition was fairly keen throughout the pale, especially So for the breeding ewos, which came forward in splendid condition. The following are the pncea realisedls3 four and six-t-ooth owes, £1 45.; 96 two-tooth ewes, 19s. fid.; 137 four-year ewes, £1 os. Id.; 28 dairy cows were offered, and made from £3 10s. to £7 155., averaging £5 55.; backward store cows, £2 10s. Tho New Zealand Loan .and Mercantile Agency Company, Palmerston North, report:— At Eongatca on Wednesday we had a- good yarding of cattle. Competition for both store cows and forward cows showed an improvement on late sales. Young cattle were dull. We quote :-Fat wethers, 405.; fißcd store cows. £2 65., £2 Bs., £2 10s.; fair store cows. £2 l&s., £}. £3 7s. fd. £o 95.; forward cows, £3 17s„ £4, £4 Is. £5; fat cowf, £6, £6 Bs., £7 2s. fid.; springing heifers, £5; springing cows, £5 to £6 17s. 6d. Messrs. W. and G. Turnbull and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly sale in their Waipoua (Masterton) sale yards on Wednesday. A yarding as advertised came forward, and was offered to a eood attendance of buyers,, consequently competition was keen throughout tho sale, and the whole yarding was aold at the following rates;— Fat ewes, 16s. 3d., 18s. to 225.; forward 2 and 4-tooth wethers, 205.; forward B.F. lambs, 14s. 4d. to lis.; Bomncy I-incoln shorn lambs, lis. 2d.; small, 6s. 5d.; f.m. ewes in lamb (rather low condition), ss. Id. to 3s. lid. Oattle; Fat heifers, £10 10s.; fat cows, £6, £9 2s. 6d. to £10; forward store cowe, £4; spfinginK heifers, £4 6d.; dairy cows close to profit, £8 2s. 6d. to £8 155.; old store cows, 31s. We also sold on account of Trenthani Carnival Queen candidate ono pet lamb, donated by the matron and nurses of the M&sterton Hospital, which realised £14 13e.
