'ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL REPORT.
Tho animal general meeting of the New Zealand Hereford Cattle Breeders' Association will, be held at tho Grand Hotel, Palmerston North, on Thursday, Juno' 24, at 7.30 p.m. Tho annual report congratulates members on the continued advancement of the association. The balanco at bank stands at £342 145., 'while in addition £216 is placed on fixed deposit. The registered herds on June 1, 1914, were 43. During the period under review eleven new ones were registered, and after deducting four resignations the total now stands at 50. Tho report adds: "Volume XVI of the Herd Book has been completed, and circulated to members, the number of entries being— hulls Cows and heifers 1148, showing an increase of 37 and 145 respectively above ihe number of animals registered in the previous volume. Volume XVII is practical!}' finished, pr.d should bo ready for members by the end of July. Your council applied to be registe.red under the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908, and after the usual formalities were carried out a charter of incorporation was granted on August 24, 191-1. Your council tried to interest members with a view to sending a representative exhibit of cattle to tho Panama Pacific Exposition being held
this year at San Francisco, but owing to the very poor response from members the project had to be abandoned. In accordance with the rules the following retire by "rotation : The President (M r. 15. Short), vice-president (Mr. H. B. Stuckey), and two members of the council (Messrs. H. J. Dagg and C. A. J. Lcvctt) ; all of whom arc eligible for rc-olcction." i
