RUGBY NO MATCHES NEXT SATURDAY. . In consequence of tho sports gathering at Newtown Park on Saturday afternoon in aid of the Sports Candidate, the Rugby Union will not play any Cup matches on that afternoon. As one of the afternoon's attractions the union is arranging for a special match between Poneko and Athletic, two of the leading teams in the senior championship. Both teams have a large army of followers, and those who saw their first meeting earlier in the season, when a most keen and fast game resulted, will doubtless be pleased to. have an opportunity of seeing kith teams at full strength again try conclusions. Other branches of sport will also be represented, and the various games should provide an enjoyable afternoon's entertainment.
