Christchurch, June 8. Wheat and Oats—The markets are very firm, with but little business passing, and there ore practically no orterings by growers. Tho potato market is firmer owing to improved inquiry and to the scarcity of offerings. The price is now £4 10s. at- country stations. A fairly large quantity ol potatoes has been pitted, but not so large as usual owing to free selling off the forks, and there are still some crops to dig. BUTTER AND OHEESE MARKETS. Messrs. A. 8. Patereon and' Co.. Ltd., Wellington, ha.ve received the following cablegram from their London principals, Messrs. J. and J. Lonsdale and Co., Ltd.:— Butter.—The market is easier owing to the increased English, make. Quotations, 140s. to 1425. Cheese.—Demand good; supplies moderate.
