MEASLES AT THE CAMP

4 1 ! STILL BETTER QUARTERS. Better arrangements have been made for the accommodation of soldiers recovering from measles, a disease which is now fairly prevalent at Trentham camp. It was intended that sick men should go to the General Hospital, and that during the period of convalescence ; they should go to Berhampore and then ' to special quarters at the camp. It [ was considered, however, that the ; Plague Hospital at Berhampore was not f an ideal establishment for patients, and 3 the Defence Department have now se--3 cured the use of Mr. C. H. Izard's house, situated in the Hutt district, as a home for convalescent men. The I, Plague Hospital is being renovated, and it will be a reserve for use in cases of j emergency, such as a rapid spread of i the disease. Mr. Izard some months ago offered his house to the Defence authorities as a hospital for wounded soldiers returned from the front. In view of the pre--5 sent difficulty, however, he has been good enough to place it at the disposal of the Defence Department unreservedly for any hospital purposes. It will 3 now be ÜBed as a convalescent home for s measles patients. In conversation with 1 a reporter yesterday, the Defence _Mini ister expressed his great appreciation of Mr. Izard's generosity.
