ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
DRAGGED BY A TRAMOAB-. "Hold On!" "Hold On I" These words, which startled the ears of homeward bound tlieatre-goers at about 10.40 o'clock last night in Manners Street, came from a person in distress on Car 25 that was travelling eastward at a fair rate of speed. When the car pullol up it was found that a young man named C. Young, of t'ho Railways Department, who resides ill Brougham Street Extension, had been dragged along the wood-blocks for a few yards. He had evidently been endeavouring to leave the car when it was in motion, and his clothes had caught, with the result that he had been dragged along for at least a car's length. His face, hands, and legs were severely grazed, but he had been fortunato enough to escape more serious injury.
