A VILLAGE STORMED
A BERLIN REPORT Amsterdam, Juna 4. A Berlin communique says: "W« stormed tlia chateau and viUa'ge of Hoogs (north-east of Ypres), and the British counter-attacks were repulsed ivith great bloodshed. The British, east Givenchy, on Thursday eveniug entered our positions. AVo_ ejected them with severe losses, capturing three machine guns. THE BRITISH VERSION. *" London, June 5, 0.10 a.m. High Commissioner's message:— Sir John French reports: "During the last few days the fighting was mainly loufined to artillery. On Sunday and Monday we seized the outbuildings near Bodge, cast of Ypres, since when our tenches have been subjected to heavy jombardmeut nofth-east of Givenchy. Dji Thursday we expelled the enemy : roni the trenches fronting 200 yards, laking forty-eight prisoners. The inantry, however, was unablo to remain n occupation after daylight, owing to ;ke enemy's fire."
