HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. To-night Mr. Paul Stauhopo and his merry band of musical buiiesquo artists will enter upon the last six nights of tlicir engagement in Wellington, and will stugo an outircly new and original iT'Viie* tinder tho title of "Pardon Jle," which had a successful season recently ac the Bijou Theatre, Melbourne. The now rcvuo will depend largely for its success upon the comicalities Mr. Paul Stanhope, who will be seen in tho character of an itinerant- Irisli fiddler. 11l addition to the revue, a first-class vaudeville programme will bo submitted, an artist under the 110111 do stage of the Australian Sundowner, and who is said to be an accomplished and well-known violinist, will present a musical novelty. Mr. Tom Dawson, character comedian, will appear for the first timo, as also will Edwards and Parker, English musical comedy artists. Conrtenay and Sliaw, Lumley and Rhodes, and Ida Jarvis will also appear. Tho same bill will bo given nightly and a matinee will be lied on Saturday. "CINDERELLA." At tlio Bristol Piano Company this morning at 9 o'clock, the bos plana will be opened for the nine performances of J. C. Williamson's pantomime extravaganza "Cinderella, to be staged for the first time 111 New Zealand at the Grand Opera House to-morrow and six following nights, with matinees 011 Saturday afternoon next and on Wednesday, June 16. Mr. Barry Lupino will appear as Billy tho page; his characterisation of which first made his name amongst playgoers of England. Mr. Jack M'Ardie is entertaining as the Baron, and his singing of "Sister Susie's Sewing Shirts for Soldiers" creates much merriment. Mr. Arthur Stigant, it is said, presents the part of the Dame to tho very life. As tho principal "boy" Miss Minnie Love dresses artistically, and sings and acts delightfully, and Miss Dolly Castles and Miss Celia Ghiloiii have both been lavishly praised for their efforts. From among a series of picturesque ballets one that stands out pre-eminently is the "Boudoir Ballot.". In it Miss Maud Amery lightly tends Cinderella as tile Gosamar Fairy, and this new accomplished dancer also figures in a quaint kitchen ballet. But her principal effort, it is said, is the "Red Poppy," a ballet d'action charmingly shown. In a (juaint and very "turn" entitled "Old Time Turns" Miss Gertie Latchford and Miss Dorothy Firmin are, it is said, screamingly, humorous. A feature, of the pantomime is the acrobatic speciality of Tiny Tot Marjorie and Little Eileen. At the matinee performance on Wednesday will be introduced the uproariously funny harlequinade. The company is ■ duo to arrive to-morrow morning, and ' will have a full day's rest to prepare for Wednesday night. THE KING'S. Miai of the great Patriotic Carnival lias been filmed by the King's camera j men and will be screened this evening. Tie pi occasions 011 Thursday and Saturday and the great crowds at the park aro very closely, depicted. Among the many novelties shown is a special athletic clisplay by the Metropolitan Fire 1 li'.'ig'Klo T'lie various Queen Candidates will also be shown for the first time. The i:sual excellent programme will be submittcu, the star film being 'Tne Aitornov for the Defence," a splendid Lubiii pr. 1 trayal of how a clever lawyer allowed his ambition to overmaster , ins puiifcipie. The moral is cleverly \ caivoyed and the story ends in happy . circumstances. There is also highly , humorous item, ''Tlio Ageless Sex," a comedy illustrating the penchant of the 1 fair sex for artificial aids to beauty. EVERYBODY'S. i To-day at noon at Everybody's will 1 be screened an excellent programme of ; pictures, including two star features, a : Kulem drama and a Keystone comedy, ' tho former a powerful' two-part eino- : tional episode, "The Swindler," in which Miss Alice Joyce plays the char- 1 acter of Mrs. Boylan, a widow who marries a bogus company promoter, and is fleeced of all her money. The Keystone Company is represented by the latest comedy, "Fatty and Mabel at San ; Diego," in which the Keystone duo, : Mabel Normand and Fatty Arbuckle, have a holiday at the- San Diego Exposition. By special arrangement with tho Patriotic Carnival Committee moving pictures of the candidates have been taken and will be screened until further notice at all sessions, commencing to-day. Other subjects are: "Under False Colours," a comedy drama; "Making a Newspaper," the whole'process from pulp to letterpress. Gaumont Graphic, screening latest news from the front, and other war topicals. MACMAHON'S THEATRE. The change of programme at MacMahon's Theatre to-day will be lieadeii by an elaborate Kalem drama, entitled "The Mayor's Secretary." Other features include a brisk Edison film, "The Girl Who Kept Books," "Kidding the Boss;" a crisp Vitagraph comedy; "The Missing Legacy" (comedy). All attractive feature will be a film display of the Carnival Queens. The Pathe Gazette ' includes, views of the mobilising of j Britain's , women to undertake men's work during the war, the' bombardment 1 of Przemysl, Trench Cooking, French j Sappers at Work, and other topical ' subjects. To-morrow will see a reap- i pearanco of Charlie Chaplin in tho 1 second of the Essanay comedies, "A • Night Out," a hilarious burlesque. ! THE EMPRESS . THEATRE. ; The change of programme at tho , Empress Theatre continuous pictures to-day and to-night will introduce the Lubin Company's feature drama "Beneath the Sea," an exciting story, in j which the leading character is tho inventor of a new underwater exhaust for ] submarine engines. A sensational inci- j dent is depicted when the inventor, to save the vessel, is discharged, through J •o. torpedo tubo, to the surface, and , thus saves the situation.
