HEMP & TOW GRADED
' A return prepared by the Department of Agriculture, showing the quantities of hemp, tow, and stripper slips graded at the ports of the Dominion during tho month of May, shows that the total number of bales of hemp graded was 9463, as compared with 8891 for the corresponding month of last year, an increase of 572 bales. For tho twelve months ending May 31 the number of bales graded was 83,051, as compared with 143,556 for the previous twelve months, a decrease of . 60,505 bales. During the month 2535 bales of tow were dealt with a,s compared with 3257 for tho corresponding month of last year, a decrease of 722 bales. For the twelve months ending May 31 the number of bales graded was 22,616, as compared with 46,888 for the previous twelve months, a decrease of 24,272 bales. During tho month the number of bales of stripper slips graded was 99, as compared with 79 for the corresponding month of last year ,an increase of 20 bales. Por the twelve months ending May 31, 1915, tho number of bales graded was 1403.
