MONEY. 'A' story from Russia assorts that this German Emperor has on his conscience the shameful death of a well-known Russian officer, Colonel Myasoyedoff. This officer, when tho war commencod, was a colonol in command of tho railway, police at tho Russo-East Prussian frontier of Wirballen. Tho post was an important one, affording special facilities for obtaining much secret information, and tho Germans long before the war broke out made every endeavour to corrupt him. High German officials courted and flattered him, and, as ho was frequently in need of money, they • put plenty of money in his way. Finally he was invited to shoot witE the Kaiser at the latter'B shooting estate at Rominten, 'close to tho frontier. The Kaiser made much of him, and bo oompletely turned his head that scon after he became a spy in German, pay. His German sympathies became known, and he fell under suspicion, but when the war broke out ho pleaded hard to be given an opportunity to prove that he was a loyal Russian. His wish was granted, and he was appointed to tho staff of the 10th army as interpreter. .In this capacity he was given many important documents to translate, and had frequent access to tho staff plans. During the final Russian, retreat from' Eaßt Prussia it became evident that these plans were known, and finally suspicion rested on Myasoyedoff. Ho was accused of not only communicating the plans of the Russian staff to the Germans, but of delaying the orders for tho retirement of ono of the Russian army corps, which suffered heavy losses in oon sequence. He was court-martialled, found guilty, and hanged like a common criminal, i—■„
