A DOMESTIC DRAMA

THREE YEARS AFTERWARDS. toy Auckland, June 1. Most people will still remember the sensation that was caused in Auckland in February, 1912, by the action of Soren Marius Milckelsen, a Dane, who abducted his eight-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and kopt her at Howick for four or five days until, with, her hair cut short., and disguised as a boy, she was rescued by the police. For that offence Milckelsen was fined £100, and now, three years later, he is applying to the Supreme Court for the right of access to the child. The application was heard by Mr. Justice Cooper at tho Supreme Court this morning. Mr. Moore appeared for Mikkelsen in' support of it, and Mr. Allan Moody to oppose it 011 behalf of the mother. Ann Petren Caroline Margret Mikkelsen. The applicant' made reference to liis abduction of the child, and contended that he had been actuated by a strong , desire to promoto its interests. He said his prime object in life was to promote tho interests of his little girl. The mother, in her affidavit, expressed the conviction that tho father was endeavouring to obtain access to tho child merely to annoy her. After counsel had addressed the Bench, His Honour intimated that 110 would take an opportunity to see tho child, to ascertain whether it would be for or against her interests for the application: to be granted.
