IS HOLLAND READY FOR WAR?
WAVE OF ANXIETY IN DUTCH NEWSPAPERS BILL FOR UNIVERSAL SERVICE London, June 2. Amsterdam reports a wave of anxiety in the Putch Press, which is declaring that the Netherlands will commit suicide in a cowardly manner unless every effort is made to strengthen her defensive forces. The articles indicate a realisation of the dangers of unpreparedness, and the popular clamour for a.i army of six hundred thousand men, many cannon, and several aircraft. The War Minister is introducing a Bill as a stop towards general military service.
