PARCELS FOR OUR TROOPS

s THE POSTAGE RATES. Since tbo beginning of tho war many narcels for members of the Australian Expeditionary Force have been posted iu New Zealand. Manifestly it was not necessary that these should enjoy the privileges in the form of diminished postage accorded by the PostmasterGeneral to parcels addressed to members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Meantime Australian parcel's have been forwarded at the same rates as those for New Zealanders. In order to arrive at a conclusion, the Post-master-General last week telegraphed the Postmaster-General, Melbourne, and now has the reply that the reduced rates of postage. Is. for 31b., 2s. for 71b., 3s. for 111b., will be applied to soldiers' parcels from Australia, whether the soldiers are members of the Australian or the New Zealand Force. The special rates on parcels posted in New Zealand will be continued.
