« OLD MAN 13 CRN ED TO DEATH. (By TeleerUDh.-Pross Association.) Tirnaru, May 31. Daniel O'Brien, single, between G(s mid 70 years of age, who had been working about St. Andrews district for many years, and lived by himself in a hut oil the Otaio riverbed, was found burned to death in the remains of the hut on Sunday morning. At the inquest three witnesses gave evidence that tlie.v weie at the hut on Saturday night, and one of them took two gallons of beer, which was not finished when they left. A fourth man was named, and the inquest was adjourned. MAN'S BODY FOUND. The decomposed body of a man was found in the bush at the top of Beatichamp Street, Karori, yesterday. Death had apparently occurred some months agD. Tho body appeared to be Unit of an elderly man, about oO years of age. ft was clothed in a good suit of bine cloth, but the collar and tie were missing. The shirt was of galaten, and on the feet were heather wool socks and good boots. A heavy gold ring was on the little finger of tho left liantl. The body lies in tho morgue, and an inquest is to be lield. The body of the middle-aged man discovered off the beach at the Run Round, Island Ray. on Saturday, has not yet been identified.
