MASTERTON.
A contingent of 100 men was dispatched from here to 'i'rcnfcliam 011 Saturday. They were played to the station by the .Regimental Hand, and were Riven a hearty send-off by a great crowd of people. Tho Mayor of l'ctonc and several councillors visited Wairarapa towns on Saturday, and sold tickets in a rafflo for a work of art in aid of the Hutt Valle.v Queen oi' Carnival candidate. Dr. Platts-Aiills was also here in furtherance of her candidature. The Wairarapa executive of the Allies' Relief Fund has decided not to take an active part in the Wellington scheme, but has expressed sympathy with the candidate nominated by the Trentham Camp. Jlr. Alec Turner, who is leaving Sir Walter Buchanan's Tupurupuru Station after a number of years' service, on account of failing health, was entertamed by settlors on Friday night, and presented with a purse of sovereigns.
