Messrs. Dalgety and Company. Limited, Jlasterton, report having held a successful clearing sale of stock, etc.. at Greytown on Thursday, on acconnt of tho trustees or the estate of the late J. p. Heagerty. All the slock came forward in good condition, and met with a ready salo at highly satisfactory prices. The following are prices obtained: —l9B five-year Whakapuni ewes, in lamb to Romney rams, 255. 6d.; 250 four, six, and eight-tooth owes, in lamb to Southdown rams. 19s. 9d.; 147 four and llve-yoar ewes, in lamb to Shropshire rams. 145.; a good line of fat bullocks, £12 12s. 6d.; 9 fat bullocks, £9 10s.; two and a- half-year steers, £6 7s. and £5 145.; eighteen-month 6teers, £2 25.; eighteenmonth heifers, 365.; springing heifers, £5 10s. and £4 10s.; cows, £4 15. and £3 10s.; bull. £3; bay gelding. £33; bay mare, £27; aged hack, £4; aged gelding, £6 10s. At their Levin sale on Friday Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having had. a small yarding of both sheep and cattle. Limited, Masterton, report having held a successful clearing sale at Nikau, Pallia tua, on Thursday, on account of Mr. Walter Matthews, who has sold his property, and also on account of Mr. T. Egan, who has leaded his farm. The stock was of splendid quality, and in excelent condition, and met with vcr.v keen competition, especially the breeding ewes. Cattle were no «"o eagerly 6ought after. The following prices wero realised:—Slieep: Two-tootli «wcb in lamb to Itomney rams, 20s. to 20s. 3d.; four and six-tooth ewes in lamb to Romuey rams, 20s. Id.: four and five-year ewes in lamb to Southdown rams, 18s. Id.; mixedage ewes in lamb to Southdown rams, 165.; shorn ewe lambs. 12s. 4d.; mixedscx iambs', Bs. to Bs. 9d.; cull lambs, 45.; aped rains 7s. 6d. A small yarding of both sheep and r.Utio were penned, and the demand nt auction was slack.
