FEDERATION OP PARMER'S CO-OPERATIVE ASSOCIATION
A small but important committee has been sitting In Cfiristchurcli this woelt, consisting of Messrs. E. AV. Kelph (manager N.Z. Farme r s' Co-operative Association, Ciirisfcchurcli), J. K Newman (manager Canterbury Fanners' Cooperative Association, Timaru), and A. Leigh Hunt (manager N.Z. Farmers' Co-operativo Distributing Co., Wellington). 'l'liis committee has now framed tho constitution of the proposed federation of eleven of the leading Farmers' Co-operative Associations in the Dominion, and its report is to be submitted to a general conference to be held at the end of Juno, when it is expected the now company will be established without delay. The title of the new organisation is "Tho Fanners' Cooperative Wholesale Federation of N.Z., Ltd.," and its objects are to import collectively the supplies for the whole of the combined associations, and later to market the exports in a similar manner ill London and elsewhere. In this important movement New Zealand is following Khe lead of farmers' organisations in Australia, America, Denmark, and other countries, where great benefits have been thus secured by collcotivo purchasing and marketing.
