GERMAN COMPANIES PUT TO PLIGHT . (Rec. May 31, 0.10 a.m.) I , Paris, May 29. Official.— 1 "Wo have carried the whole of the village of Ablain, aft-er very hot fighting, annihilating, or putting to flight three German companies. "Fighting continues at Neuvil'e, St. Vaast. We havo captured a fresh group of houses on the western' outskirts. "We brought down an aeroplane near Thiancourt," A CERMAN COMMUNIQUE. (Rcc. May 31, 0.10 a.m.) London, May 29. An official message from Berlin states that French counter-attacks on the road from Bethune to Souchez were repulsed along the entire front, with terrible' losses. Weak German forces were withdrawn, unobserved, at night, from tho east part of Ablain. Otherwise there would have been useless bloodshed.
