HOTELWORKERS' UNION

The annua! meeting of the "(Vellington Hotel, Club, and Restaurant Workers' Union was held in the Trades Hall last ovening. The balance-sheet for the lialf-year ended April 30 showed tliat during tiie six months 495 new mem-' hers had been admitted, of winch, roughly, 300 were men and the remainder women. Members' subscriptions lor the period totalled £441 2s. 3d., and the total receipts for the six months were £62!) 10s. 2d. The expenditure for the period was, roughly, £456. The period ends with a cash balance of £227. Tho election of officers resulted in the unopposed return of all the retiring members of tho executive, with tho exception of two, who were leaving the trade. The secretary reported that the Napier award was Working smoothly, and that an agreement, had been arrived at with the Palmerston and Wangaiiui hotelkeepers, tho only tiling remaining being ratification by tho Court.
