BILLIARDS
Four more games were got off last night in the Alcock Billiard Diner Tournament. Mr. F. K. Portcous (received 50) beat Mr. J. T. Watkins (received 50) after a liard figlit. The winner's best effort was 15, and tie loser's 38 Mr. W. H. Buddie (received 25) scored a win from Mr. E. Bucholz (received 25) • The winner played with great confidence. ■ One of the keenest games yet played in the tourney was that between Mr. R. H. Nagel (received 100) and Captain Post (received 75). The latter just managed to berth his red and secure a win by tlie small margin of eight points, Each of these players made several breaks of 20 or thereabouts. The last game was between Mr. F. R. Reade (scratch) and Mr. A. J. Turner (received 100). Mr. Turner did not play up to his usual form, and was most unfortunate in missing several good shots by. the narrowest of margins. Mr. Reade gave a very fine exhibition, his best effort securing him 13 points. Some exceptional play is expected tonight. It is anticipated that Mr. Tucker will make some very big breaks. The contests will be between Messrs. Barker and Tucker, Cockayne and Laws, I.oasby and Isaac, Collins and Bennett, Croll and Kell.
