LEAGUE
The Wellington Rugby League Executive met last evening A letter was received from the New Zealand League stating that the proposed tour to Australia had been abandoned. It was possible that the invitation might bo renewed in August, (vlien the matter would be reopened. The Napier League wrote that it was unable to accept the offer of a visit from a Wellington team on a guarantee of £25, but was willing to give the usual term of 50 per cenc-. of the gate. It was decided to take no further action. The following fixtures were drawn: — Senior: Hutt v. Petone, at Hutt Park (referee, Mr. IC. Barber); Suburbs v. Athletic, at Newtown Park (referee, Mr. S. Briee). Junior: Hutt v. Suburls, at Hutt Park (referee, Mr. W. Kerr); Central v. Petone, at Kelburn Park (referee, Mr. Burnett). HOCKEY FIXTURES FOR TO-MORROW. . The following are the grounds and fixtures for to-morrow's games:—Hereawa v. Petone, at Petone; Pakeha v. Rambler, at Karori. RIFLE-SHOOTING MATCH AT REIKORANGI. A match was fired on tho Roikorangi range on Saturday, between teams of eight men representing the AVhareroa Rifle Club and the Ngatiawa Riflo Club. The result of the shooting "was in doubt right up to the finish, the Ngatiawa Club eventually winning by 16 points.
