Messrs. W. and G. Turnbull and Co., Ltd.. report having hold their weekly sale in their Waipoua, (Masterton) sale yards, on Wednesday. A good yarding of sheep and cattle came forward, but competition was not' too keen, although there was A Rood clearance at the following prices:Fat wethers, 225. 2d.; forward^wethers, IBs.; 2-tooth wethers (small), 13s. 3d.; fat ewes, 18s. 9d. to 195.; Cat forward ewes 18s.' 5d.; ■store, ewes. los. 4d„ 13. 5d.; 4 and 5-year ewes, in lamb, 13s. Roninoy Lin coin shorn lambs, 12s. 7d.; small, Bs. Id.; woolly lambs (small), 10s.; B.F. iamb?, 12s. 9d.; fat lambs 14s. 2d. to 16a. Id.; 4 and 5-yea.r S.H. Hereford cross cows, in calf, £5 17s. 6d. and £3 18s.; 3-year S.H. heifers, in calf, £3 J63.; fat heifers, £5 lfl.; veal calves, 355.;' mother-reared calves, 20a. to 335. The New Zealand Loan and Mercanttte 1 Agency Company, Ltd., report—At Palmer' , eton North on Thursday we had a, small yarding of both sheep and cattle, which sold at rates on a par with recent sales. "We quote—Forward ewes, 155.; fat ewes, 2fc. 6d.; fAfc ewoa and wethers, 225.; fat iambs, 15s. 3d., 16s. 5d.; medium B.F. lambs. 10s. 4d.; 2-tooth wethers, 17s. Sd.: good Tv'oaner 6teers, £2 Is. Gd.; 6tore cows, £2, io 55.; heifers in calf, £4 10s. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited report having a fair yaring of both sheep and oattlc at their Palmerston North sale on Thursday. Quotations:—Store ewes, Bs. 6d.; empty ewoe, 10s. 2d.; mixed age ewes in lamb, 10s. 3d.; forward lambs, 15s. Id.; cull lpmbs, 7e.; small 2-tooth wethers, 15 ■.; cull yearling heifers, 165.; cull 20-months heifers 395.; low-condition yearling steers, 295.; low-condition 20-months steers, £3 95.; backward dairy cows, £4 10s. to £5; forward cows, to £4 -16a. . Hessre. Company, Limited, report having held the first day of Mr. George Green's clearing sale at the Palmerston North so.leya.rds, on Tuesday. I'lio bidding for sheep and cattle was not particularly animated, though prices realised in'the face of existing circumstances must be considered very satisfactory. Horses, on the other hand met with exceedingly keen competition, and in this respect the sale was far beyond the average. Quotations: — Sheep: Small lambs, 75., Be., to 9s. 3d.; mixed lambs, 12s. to 12s. 7d.; aged ewes, 7s. to 9s. 3d.; mixed ago ewes in lamb, t4s. to 14s. 6d.; small 2tooth ewes, 15s. 3d.; 2-tooth ewes in lamb, 17s. 5d.; 2-tooth wethers 17s. 7d. Horses: Hacks, £2 10s., £3 155., £4 10.'., £5 ss. ,£6 15s„ £7 to £11; 2 and 3-year-old light draughts, broken to lead, £7, £9, £l 0 £12, £14 to £15 10s.; heavy draught fillies, £24 to £30; harness horse, £20; 8-yea,r draught mare, £39; 7-year draught gelding, £40; 7-yoar draught mare, £42; . 6-year draught mare £43 10s. At the vondor's property, Longbum, on Wednesday, the trhole of the dairy stock, implements, etc., were offered, buyers being present from Eketehuna. Daunevirkc, Wangnnui, Taihapc, and as far north as Ohakime. The 130 cows and heifers submitted were in good condition, and met with keep competition at prices as below:— Heifers, in linos, £3 15s. to £4 155.; backward cows, to £5 10s.; fair cows, *5 155., £6 55., £6 103., £7 to £7 55.; vers; fair cows, £8, £8 10s., £8 17s. 6d., £9 ss. to £9 Iss.t best cows, £10, £10 55., £11 Js. to £13 53. j
