Supplies of fresh fruit and vegetables are so far well up to tho average for the season of tho year, but tho bulk of the apples being handled in the_ local market aro not choice samples. Values are inclined to improve, especially where good samples aro exhibited. Tho Island oranges and bananas wero handled yesterday, values being firmer than thoso of last 111011 th. Vegetables are selling well at late rates, but cabbages aro inclined to sell at poor values. Fresh eggs are scarce, also preserved, wliilo a fresh shipment of American chilled eggs arrived 011 Thursday. Yesterday's approximate values were: —Island oranges, ss.
