ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
SEAMAN'S THROAT CUT. A seaman named Alexander Stivers Tas admitted to the Hospital yesterday suffering from a severe wound in tlio neck. He was found shortly after 7 a.m. in the backyard of premises at 134 Willis Street, and Dr. Henry was called to attend to him. The man was very weak from loss of blood, as apparently he had been there for some tune after the deed had been committed. It is alleged the wound was self-inflictcd, with a razor. From the time the mail was admitted to the Hospital it was apparent that his condition was critical. He lingered till the afternoon, and died at 3.35 p.m. An inquest will be held.
FARM HAND BURNED TO DEATH. (By Telegraph.—l'ress Association.) InvercargUl, May 18. A farm hand named Duncan Matheson was burned to death in a hut at Drummond this morning, He leaves a widow and four children.
DEATH OF AN UNKNOWN MAN. Carterton, May 18. At the inquest at l<"eatherston yesterday on the body of a man found 011 the property of J. W. Fellingham, a verdict was returned that death was due to pneumonia and exposure. The identity of the man is still unknown. Deceased was an old man, aged about 60.
