ZEPPELIN VISITS ENGLISH COAST
INCENDIARY BOMBS FALL ON RAMSGATE Rec. May 18, 0.5 a.m.) . London, May 17. A. Zeppelin dropped incendiary bombs on Ramsgate (south coast of England). Fires are reported. THE DAMAGE AT RAMSGATE. (Rec. May 18, 1.20 a.m.) London, May 17. The Zeppelins which flew over Ramsgate dropped over a dozen bombs and came from the direction of Margate. A bomb struck the Bull and George Hotel, shattered the windows, and partially damaged the place by fire. Throe of the occupants were injured.
Two incendiary bombs fell in the Park, but did no harm.
An explosive bomb was dropped on Albion Hill, and shattered a shop front.
The Zeppelin passed over ' Margate, but did not drop any bombs. It appeared over Dover at 2.30 p.m. from tho northward, amid a fog screen, and dropped bombs, but vessels were hot damaged.
The raider was also reported at Broadstairs and Deal, but did iiot drop bombs.
FOG SCREEN FOR ZEPPELINS. SIX NEW RAIDERS BUILT. (Red. May 18, 1.20 -a.m.) London, May 17. A neutral, who was recently travelling in Germany, heard talk of a new fog-bomb for use by Zeppelins attacking London. The bombs create an artificial fog screening the presence of Zeppelins. Half a dozen new Zeppelins of a special type for a raid on London have been completed at Friederichshaven.
