DEVIOUS DIPLOMACY WITH ITALY
GERMAN MACHINATIONS (Rec. May 18, 1.20 p.m.) London, May 17. Dr. Dillon, tho "Daily Telegraph's" Special Commissioner m the East, states that it was. only when Austria definitely refused to make any acceptance of concessions that tho TripLico was denounced, hud Italy entered into a binding accord with the Entente group of Powers, with a view to avoiding a perilous isolation. Germany then forced Austria to mako belated advances. These concessions were first circulated among Italians by German agents, and thereafter were formally communicated to Baron Sonnino (Italian Foreign Minister), after the Opposition. Press had assailed the Cabinet on the ground that it would be folly to l-ejeot them."
