A MOVEMENT TO ACQUIRE THEM. At this evening's * meeting of the Petone Borough Council, Councillor M'Kenzi® will move:—"That the Town Clerk be instructed to take the necessary stops to place before the ratepayers a proposal to raise the sum of £8000 for the acquisition of Percy's Gardens, the same to be used as a pleasure garden and park, and also as a site for a memorial college or'high school, to commemorate the landing of tho first settlers on Petone beach."
