D. C. BATES. Meteorological Office, "Wellington, May 14, 1915.
Some discussion took place at the meeting of the Christchu'rch Presbytery, says the Christchurch "Press," regarding the. matter of chaplains to the defence forces. It was pointed out that the Presbytery was not aware what arrangements had been made regarding the chaplains who had been appointed to administer to the Expeditionary Forces, nor what number would be required in the future. It was also stated that with regard to the local Territorial camps there was apparently no provision madofor services to bo conducted bv the ministers of the church. This, it was held by several speakers, ivas partly the fault of the senior chaplains and the authorities to notify the dates to tho ministers in whose districts the. camps were to be held. On the motion of Dr. Envin, it wns decided to obtain full information respecting the chaplains who have already been appointed to accompany the. Expeditionary Forces and what number will be necessary for future reinforcements at Trentham.
