SIGNOR GIOLITTI TO VISIT THE KING
Rome, May 12. The ex-Premier, Signor Giolitti, will interview the King.
Signor Salanda (Prime Minister) declares that whether or not Italy interveiled, it is essential to cultivate good relations with England, which is tho only to which Italy is attached by traditional friendship, and with which there is no cause for friction.

The defeat of the Germans at the Marne battle upset their plans, and forced Germany to court Italy.
